By now you're probably asking, "what is it?" well it's stove top potpourri! This little trick adds warmth and fresh smells throughout your home. It's also very simple and if you have a lot of kids running around during the holidays it can be a little safer than candles and more potent than diffusing. So, here's what you do.
Start by simmering water in a small sauce pan. Add fresh herbs, spices and even citrus to create your home's signature scent! Set a timer as a reminder to check the water level every 30 minutes to see if you need to add more. Now, here are a few ingredients we love, combine them as you see fit!
Sliced Apples
Orange Peel
Lemon Slices
Grapefruit
Cinnamon Sticks
Vanilla
Lavender
Mint
Clove
Fresh Rosemary
Cranberries
Nutmeg
Pin Cones
Pumpkin (from a can or the spice for pie)
